Privacy & Security

How your data is handled, and staying safe from SIM fraud.

How we handle your data

What we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

Contact details, delivery address, the details needed to place the connection, and bank details for the Direct Debit mandate.

Why

To place and manage your order, to meet our contractual obligations, and to keep records required by law.

Protection

Bank details are encrypted before storage. Access to customer records is restricted to staff who need it.

Full details, including your rights and how to make a request, are on our privacy page.

Protecting yourself from SIM swap fraud

How the scam works and how to reduce your exposure.

How it works

A fraudster convinces a provider to move your number to a SIM they control, then intercepts the codes used to reset your bank and email accounts.

Reducing the risk

  • Use an authenticator app rather than SMS codes wherever it's offered.
  • Treat a sudden, unexplained loss of signal as suspicious and check immediately.
  • Never share account details or verification codes with someone who calls you.

If it happens

Contact us straight away, then your bank. We can block the connection and work with the network to restore the number to you.

Spotting scam calls and texts

What we will and won't ask you for.

What we'll never do

We'll never call or text asking for your full bank details, a password, or a one-time code.

Warning signs

  • Urgency: a threat to disconnect the service today.
  • A link to a lookalike domain — check it's simdeals.uk.
  • A request to pay by transfer or gift card.

Reporting

Forward suspicious texts to 7726 free of charge, then contact us if the message claimed to be from SimDeals.
