Keeping Your Number

PAC codes, porting timings and what to do while the transfer runs.

How to get a PAC code

Text PAC to 65075 and give us the code at checkout.

Getting the code

Text PAC to 65075 from the phone that holds the number. Your current provider must reply within one minute with a PAC code and any outstanding charges.

Using it

Enter the code during checkout, or reply to your order confirmation with it. A PAC is valid for 30 days from the date it's issued.

Don't want to keep your number?

Text STAC to 75075 instead. A STAC closes your old account without moving the number across.

How long does a number transfer take?

Usually one working day from activation, normally in the morning.

Timings

Transfers run on working days and usually complete in the morning, one working day after your new SIM activates.

During the transfer

  • Keep your old SIM in the phone until the switch happens, so you keep service.
  • On the day, you may briefly lose signal while the number moves.
  • Once the number moves, the old SIM stops working and the old account closes.

What moves and what doesn't

Your number moves. Your balance, bundles and voicemail messages don't — save anything you need from voicemail first.

The transfer didn't happen

Common reasons a port fails and how we fix it.

Ports fail for a small number of predictable reasons.

Common causes

  • The PAC expired before we submitted it (they last 30 days).
  • The name or account details we hold don't match the losing provider's records.
  • There is an unpaid balance or a contractual block on the old account.
  • The number is already going through another transfer.

What to do

Request a fresh PAC by texting PAC to 65075, then send it to us with your order reference. We'll resubmit the port, usually for the next working day.

Still need a hand?

Send us your order reference and what’s happening — most queries are answered the same working day.
